"Why don't you find out for yourself, Mr. Everyman," Betty says, pressing a button on his chair. "If you can! Mwuhahahahahahahahaha!"
The floor beneath you opens up, and, thanks to gravity, you fall right in without comically standing there bamboozled for a moment like in cartoons. That's just unrealistic.
You land in a room made of dirt and stone with nothing but an opening for you to walk through and a sign next to it. The sign reads:
Welcome to the Deadly Labyrinth! If you enter, you will probably die. But if you don't, a fantabulous prize awaits you!
You hate puzzles, but there's nowhere else for you to go now. Maybe this prize is Heather. Maybe it's a new car.
That second one would suck. You don't drive.
You need to decide on your next course of action, though. You can't stand around waiting for something to happen to you. You have to advance the plot. You have to put one foot in front of the other.
