Time stops.
For several mintues, not a single sound can be heard. After several minutes, one of the burgers at the conference table speaks up. "What do you we now? He isn't afraid of us."
Betty walks up to his chair, but instead of sitting, he puts both of his hands on the table. "There's only one thing we can do. We have to surrender, escape, and then regroup."
Yeah...Yeah! That is the logical course of action Betty can take. After all, fear is the only thing that prevents the hero from winning in every action movie.
Betty sighs. "You have won this time, Mr. Everyman. But be warned: though you have bested us today, we will return."
With the click of a button, you find yourself outside on a patch of grass alongside Heather, who looks like an escaped convict with her disheveled hair and bruises and whatnot. Up in the night sky, you can see an unfamiliar aircraft disappearing into the great beyond. Some would call it a UFO, and while that is the correct terminology, it does not house aliens.
No. It houses burgers. And they'll be back.
