One of the burgers at the table turns and faces you, then looks back at the others. "Umm...did he just ink?"
Betty appears stoic. "Yes. Yes he did. We're dealing with a mighty warrior here. This will be more difficult than I expected.
Betty snaps his fingers, and an air hockey table arises out of the floor. He walks to one side, and motions for you to join him. He pulls the puck out of the bottom, and the table wizzes to life.
"Best to five, Mr. Everyman." He places the puck on the table. It slightly slides to the right.
"For the fate of mankind!"
Betty strikes hard and fast, and scores an immediate point. He laughs.
You put on your game face, though, and now you're playing like Randy Daytona when he faced off with the Dragon. After an hour of play, the score is 4-3 Default.
You match each other blow for blow, strike for strike, hit for hit. Sweat pours from the both of you, and Betty knows he's about to lose. However, just before you finish him off, he hits the puck high, knocking it right into your eye.
No one really cares, and Betty challenges you to serve. I believe "Bring it" are his exact words.
So you do. And let me tell you, you brought it. With the mighty roar of a lion, you hit the puck as lightly as you possibly can, throwing Betty for a loop and causing to swing wide to the side too early. The puck crawls its way into the goal, making you the victor.
Betty screams, knowing he has been bested. Alongside him, all the burgers in the room implode for some strange reason. You aren't exactly sure why; maybe you'll find out in the third game.
But, for now, you've won.
Heather tackles you to the ground, holding you tight. "That was awesome!" She kisses you on the cheek. "I've never seen anyone play air hockey like that!"
The two of you lay there for some time, exhausted. You eventually catch your breath and Heather looks at you intently.
"Hey, Default?"
"Yeah?"
"Play me at air hockey."
