The bargaining chip...

"You really think you can buy the universe with that?" you ask, putting on your best poker face.

Betty scratches his head. "Well, I was kind of hoping...Oh well, I guess we'll have to..." Betty dons a pair of sunglasses, "make it personal."

With the clap of his hands, two burgers in spartan helmets bring Heather out of a doorway, both holding electrified spears with one hand and Heather with the other. Her sleeves are ripped and torn, and you can see bruises where the cloth is torn. Her hair is all messed up, too. You wonder if she realizes how awesome she looks with messy hair, and I wonder if you realize that this isn't the time or the place for that.

Betty puts his hands behind his back. "You see, Mr. Everyman, I hold the power here. Either you give me the Transfunctioner, or you can say goodbye to your ladyfriend."

Heather's gaze pierces your soul, and she shakes herself in the attempt to run to you. The guards don't seem to like that, though, so one of them punches her in the stomach, and she falls to her knees.
