Committed to see this through...

You've chosen the lonely, and you're sticking to it. You can't turn back now, no matter how daunting the future may seem. Steeling yourself, you continue to press on through barely noticeable slush, which, by the way, technically can't even be considered slush since there's only the faintest of crunches as you step on the onion-skin thick layer of snow on the ground.

After a while, you find yourself downtown in the square. Luckily, you were born before 2000, so you can actually read the analog clock atop the clock tower. It's currently 7:30.

You've been walking for almost an hour. Exhausting work, walking. If you had fast traveled, you could've been here in a matter of minutes. But you've had no need a car, so I guess my point is moot.

Anyway, enough rambling. Let's take a look around, shall we? You look like you could use a place to sit down for a minute. Red brick walls encompass you, and large wooden double doors nested under a stone arch barricade what you assume to be a government building. There's a fountain with a single spigot shooting water about four feet skyward before raining down in a radial shower. Orange streetlamps cast an iridescent sparkle on the water. There's a lip around the fountain to "pop a squat," if you will.

Concrete pathways square off a patch of grass, and two narrow walkways intersect it like an X with the fountain in the middle. Throngs of people saunter about: young couples holding hands, parents with their children, even a gaggle of rowdy munchkins racing each other. One of them faceplants and you do your best not to laugh.

On one of the many benches in the square sits a breathtaking blonde girl holding a steaming styrofoam cup. Bundled in a purple winter coat and a striped scarf, a black skirt covers most of her thighs, and black leggings protect her legs from a sudden gust of wind. Her hair is billowy and wavy, and you wonder what she smells like because you're not weird or anything.

When you look at her uggs, your mind flashes back to a time when you were chastised on a forum for knowing what uggs were. Stupid internet trolls.

She looks around for while, but her shoulders droop and she lowers her head. I wonder if you're too awkward to go talk to her.
