Didn't see that one coming...

You decide it best to be civil about this. There must be a good reason that Betty brought you here. You sit down in the chair provided for you, and Betty returns to his seat at the end of the table, as well. Heather stands beside you, disbelief all over her face.

This is pretty strange, I'll give her that much.

"Now, Mr. Everyman," Betty says, "I'm sure you're wondering why I've brought you here today. As you as aware-"

Heather squeezes the bridge of her nose. "Alright, alright, hang on a second. You expect me to believe that this is actually happening right now? Burgers are not sentient beings and teleportation doesn't exist!"

You look at Heather, sweat rolling down the back of your neck. You whisper to her. "Heather, you may not wanna say things like here."

"No, Default. No. This is straight up ridiculous!" Heather looks around, searching for something. "Alright, whoever you are, good joke, but I'm not buying it. Cut the crap and explain what's really going on here."

It's a little hard to tell because the burgers don't have eyes, but it appears that they're all glaring at Heather. A couple of them next to you whisper to each other about their disdain for Heather's lack of respect.

"Heather, please," you say. "Calm down."

"No Default, they're just food! None of this is real!"

Betty slams his fist onto a button on the arm of his chair, and your chair flops back, throwing you through a trapdoor. You somehow manage to catch yourself with one foot and hand against opposite walls of the chamber. Safe for the moment, you look around and see burning hot magma about five feet beneath you. However, it looks more like a cheap special effect than a credible threat.

Your head snaps up to the ceiling, which is still open for some reason, by Heather screaming.

"Let go of me!" There's some jabbing and what sounds like electricity, then a grunt followed by evil laughter.

You check your surroundings again. Five feet up is the hole you fell through, and five feet down is the cheap movie magma. It's really hot, and you feel soaked to the core with sweat.

One of your hands slips and you slide down a little, but you quickly catch yourself. It's a lot hotter now. Maybe that magma is real, but it just looks so fake. Maybe if you drop down you can have more time to think about what to do without having to prop yourself up. You might even be able to find an exit.

However, if you fall, you may not be able to climb the entire way back up if there isn't an exit at the bottom, which means you'll be trapped in Purgatory's sauna until you either melt or dehydrate.

You feel yourself sliding down the walls ever so slowly.
